Ahh, the joy of knowing that your future is secure while you "live the laid back life." That is the claim from one Corey Rudl student. What? You don't know who Corey Rudl is? Corey Rudl is by far one of the most notorious online gurus to date.
He founded a company called the Internet Marketing Center.By the way, the website of one of his top students who praises him and asks you to buy Corey's program was down for months! It had been malfunctioning for some time until they got wind that people started to notice.
But aside from questionable, and frankly, laughable endorsements like this, why notorious? Well, the majority of the money Corey Rudl made, about $40,000,000, was from selling you the idea of making money off of the internet as opposed to selling a product from the ideas in practice. Don't get us wrong. Corey sold other products and made some very good money.
He was a good marketer. (
Tragically, Corey was killed in a car accident. The new face of the company is a man called Derek Gehl.) But he knew what a lot of "gurus" know. There's more money in selling you the idea than in implementing it.
Even Corey Rudl's reviewers make money from selling you the course. It's much the same as multi level marketing, with Corey on top of course.
Let me repeat that. Corey's major source of income came from selling his course. It's much the same as when real estate moguls sell you the idea of making money off of real estate as opposed to selling real estate.
Get it?
You're told that you can start your business with as little as $100 dollars. How is that possible if you spend a minimum of about $700 up to about $10,000 for his course when all is totaled? Let me see, I pay $700 to $10,000 to learn how to spend $100.
As most webmasters and internet technologists know, with that kind of money you might as well pocket the $100 and spend the rest on a real internet program as follows:
If you have purchased Corey's internet marketing courses, use them as best you can. Although they do have some legitimate and good information, none of it is a secret. You probably did not know some of the information, but that doesn't make it a secret.
What's worse, they give some bad advice and techniques - like link farms and outright spam - and overprice everything you receive. From our experience with those who have gone through their course, your purchase price is never ending. They use the very same "up sell" techniques on their own unsuspecting clients as they expect their clients to use on their customers.
In effect, they promote the idea of doing a lot of technology on your own when it may not be reasonable to expect you to do so. When you start to hit some obstacles, they may tell you just spend a little more on your own internet guru, provided by them of course. Expect a little more to be thousands of dollars.
And what does the guru recommend, why more Corey Rudl products, of course. The whole process is really, really prettied up and way overpriced for what you actually receive.
You see, Corey sold the glitter, not the gold. You, on the other hand, are probably trying to sell the gold. It's not the same thing.
