Warning: BestPriceCameras.com Is A Scam

Warning: BestPriceCameras.com, TheCameraProfessionals.com and similar sites are
a prime example of the latest internet scams in place that use the old
technique of Bait and Switch. What they do is advertise a camera like the Sony HVR-A1 that retails for $4000 at an incredible price of, say, $919. Because of this ridiculously low price, they can advertise and show up as the lowest price on the net.

What you don't know is that they have no intention of selling you a camera at that price. They take your order, then send you an email to call them up and confirm your order.
When you call, you discover that the "camera is a wholesale camera. Ha ha." Yes, some of their representatives even give a stupid laugh when they tell you you've been duped. They continue to tell you it has no lens, no battery, nothing. Of course, the fact that the camera doesn't have a removable lens is beside the point.
They explain that this is a $4000 camera. If you actually want it, you need to "upgrade." It's the classic Bait and Switch. If you've been duped by BestPriceCameras.com, or any other company engaging in the same kind of activity, you can report them to the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
Another thing that some people do is click on the paid ads, but don't buy. They also call the 800 number from land lines, so there is no charge to the person calling, and don't buy. What they are trying to do is make it unprofitable for these companies to advertise.
The best thing to do is to avoid the scam artists at bestpricecameras.com and post the warnings anywhere you can, to keep others away from them, too.
